This year, for the first time ever, we are featuring a fashion show to benefit the dogs and cats of KHS. Each of our sponsors will have the chance to strut their stuff on the Tire Warehouse runway, but they're not the only ones! Anyone who would like to walk can do so if they work with us to raise $150 to help care for the many animals who enter our shelter. Think of it this way: every step taken on the Tire Warehouse runway brings support to our animals and enables us to do our lifesaving work. Want to strut YOUR stuff? Email Amber for more information! It may seem daunting to commit to raising $150, but, with our help, it should be a snap! We will send you draft posts and emails that you can share with your friends and family. We'll give you tips and tricks of how to reach your target audience. We can even create your own fundraising pages to share. You're not asking for money for you, you're raising money on behalf of the dogs and cats. And, that is a whole different ballgame! Even if you don't want to walk in the fashion show, there are still tickets and sponsorships available. You can learn more about them here. Plus, you'll have the chance to meet Loretta Swit, otherwise known as "Hot Lips" from MASH. Paws for Celebration is one of our most important events of the year. It raises mission-critical funding for our Kauai Dogs and Cats. And it won't be complete without you! Please don't delay, purchase your tickets and sponsorships today! Sign up to strut in the fashion show! Let's make this the best Paws for Celebration ever! Best,

Featured Animals: Beesly and Big Boy Meet Beesly: This sweet boy has been waiting a long time for his forever home! He's been at the shelter since June! He is 7-years young and weighs about 40 lbs. He loves going for adventures with our field trip volunteers, but what he really wants is someone to take him on his own forever adventure! Meet Big Boy: Big Boy is an SUPER sweet 9-year old gentleman. He was surrendered when his family moved and couldn't keep him anymore. He really just doesn't understand what happened to his soft bed at home in front of the TV and would truly love to get back to a real home. If you're looking for a mellow companion to hang out, Big Boy is your man!

Staff Spotlight: Molly Bache -- Wildlife Rehabilitation Manager As a previous staff member of both a Humane Society and a Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, I appreciate the unique opportunity to combine these two important fields of animal welfare while working for Save Our Shearwaters through KHS. Hawaii is the endangered species capital of the world, and every individual truly matters in sustaining the remaining native populations. I feel honored to have a direct hand in that work, and value the opportunity to aid wildlife conservation every day with Save Our Shearwaters. In addition, non-profit management has led me to meet some of the most selfless and passionate people. I love working alongside the staff at KHS -- it's evident how deeply we all care about the animals here.

KHS Cares: Feral Cats We know that feral cats on Kauai are a hot button topic so we asked one of the nation's leading experts on managing feral cats to speak with Ron Wiley about the challenge we face here on Kauai. We're grateful to Dr. Hurley and Ron Wiley for taking the time to discuss this important issue.
