Today, on this global day of giving, the Kaua'i Humane Society needs your help more than ever.  As in many places, Kaua'i has felt the impact of COVID-19 deeply, and the Kaua'i Humane Society is no exception. We are losing critical dollars without animals arriving in need of our Direct Release services. We are receiving less donations with the suspension of our field trip program.  Yet animals all over the island still need our help.  We need YOUR SUPPORT to continue our lifesaving services!

Kitten season did not take a break for COVID-19. Every day, kittens like Kaia are brought to the shelter. Every day, we're working as hard as we can to save them. 

Weighing only 5 oz on intake, we didn't think Kaia would make it. She needed round the clock nursing and bottle feeding. Medication and love. Amazingly, a foster family stepped up to make sure she got the necessary care. And, now, 2 weeks later, Kaia is thriving. We were able to do all this for Kaia because we knew we'd have your support to go above and beyond to save her.

Puddin was dropped off in our overnight kennel, left for staff to discover when they showed up in the morning. Covered in mange and scabs, she needed some immediate TLC. Prior to COVID, we would have had a difficult time finding a foster for Puddin, but the silver lining of the pandemic is how people from across our island are stepping up to help. Stepping up in ways we've never before imagined.
